This project came to life during the course of four years (2019-22) thanks to different trips to the Puna region, located on the Andean plateau which extends between north of Argentina, Bolivia and Chile. It's a display of the different sceneries of a high altitude desert, photographed over the course of summer and autumn. Under many aspects it has been the most difficult project i've ever attempted, given the high altitude environment, between 3000m and 5000m, and the remoteness of the places which made logistics very challenging especially for a solo traveller. It has been a great and exhausting adventure exclusively on offroad tracks in which i went back to an "explore and shoot" photographic approach, all in large format film.
